2010 Duluth Gold Star Teacher

Monday May 24, 2010 Posted 1 year, 11 months ago by Dave Strandberg

Cheryl Lien, a teacher at East High School, visited the Dave and Dave Show this morning along with Superintendent Keith Dixon and several other school staff and students.  Lien has been with the Duluth School District for nearly 23 years and was recently presented with the Gold Star Teacher Award for 2010.  In nominating Lien for the award, East principal Laurie Knapp says Cheryl has inspired countless students to continue their education in college or post secondary training and always brings a passion and enthusiasm to her classes.  Also this morning, Pam Bowe, from the school's summer meals program, says free breakfasts and lunches will be served to kids 18 and younger at several schools in Duluth throughout the summer months.  The U-S Department of Agriculture program provides a nutritional "safety net" for children in the community during their summer vacation from school.  Get more information by calling 336-8707.
