Grim City Budget Outlook

Tuesday May 25, 2010 Posted 1 year, 11 months ago by Dave Strandberg

City councilor Todd Fedora was a guest on the Dave & Dave Show today and detailed some of the bad news relayed to councilors by Duluth Chief Administrative Officer David Montgomery regarding the city's budget last night.  Several open positions will not be filled by the city and several repair projects will have to be delayed to address this year's budget deficit.  Even deeper cuts will need to be made next year as the state faces another multi billion dollar shortfall and will most likely make deeper cuts in local government aid.  Cuts will need to be deeper and more painful as revenues continue to drop.

Special guests scheduled for tomorrow's show will include the newly appointed Chancellor of UMD, Lendley Black and Superior Mayor Dave Ross who is continuing his quest to be Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin.
