Duluth, Mn (KDAL) A 37 year old woman is under arrest for allegedly assaulting a female police officer near the Holiday Center in downtown Duluth on Saturday. Authorities say the suspect was reportedly violating the new regulation that bans smoking near DTA bus shelters. Investigators say the woman struck the officer in the face sending her to the pavement. The suspect then pulled out two knives and began swinging them in the direction of the officer. The suspect fled the scene but was captured a short time later in a nearby alley. The officer was treated at a Duluth hospital for a broken nose and a concussion.
