(Minneapolis, MN) -- NFL quarterback Brett Favre has reportedly decided to retire from football. The "Minneapolis Star-Tribune" reports Favre told Minnesota Vikings officials last night that he will not return for another season. FoxSports.com says Favre has also has started to tell teammates that he won't be back with the team. The 40-year-old quarterback had surgery on his left ankle in May and had been working out at a high school in his native Mississippi. Favre is expected to release a statement later today.
