(Undated)  --  Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar is renewing her call for passage of food safety legislation in the wake of the recent salmonella egg contamination.  More than 550-million eggs from two producers in Iowa have been recalled.  Klobuchar is a lead sponsor of the F-D-A Modernization Act of 2009 which would strengthen the government's authority and resources to ensure a safe food supply and help prevent outbreaks.  The salmonella-infected eggs are blamed for 13-hundred cases of intestinal illness nationwide including at least 14 in Minnesota.
