CASS COUNTY -- A plane crashed in Cass County yesterday. What goes up must come down, but when 45-year-old Scott Duck lifted his Piper PA17 off a small grass field in Cass County yesterday afternoon, he had no idea it would be so soon.
He says the engine failed soon after takeoff and he wound up crashing into a field on Mason St. Duck, of Edwardsburg and 83-year-old passenger Floyd Johnson of Niles suffered only minor injuries as a result. The FAA will investigate.
