MATTAWAN (WKZO) -- A man who caught a ride with a friend and then reportedly helped two other men rob that friend has now been arrested and charged in Van Buren County.
Arrested is Theron Phone Hunt of Dowagiac on attempted murder and unarmed robbery charges Tuesday. Back on July 30th, it is believed Hunt got into a car with that 54-year old friend, and as they were headed home, Hunt asked him to pull over.
When they did, the driver was assaulted by two other men with guns.
When the victim woke up from the beating, his car, Hunt and $3700 cash were gone. The victim still suffers from the beating and may never fully recover. Hunt is being held on $56,000 dollars bond.
