DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - Two teens from the Twin Cities area were rescued from the cold waters of Lake Superior on Wednesday afternoon by the U-S Coast Guard. The kayakers capsized just outside the Duluth ship canal and were spotted by a charter fishing boat operator who contacted the Coast Guard. The 18 and 19 year olds were a part of a group of kayakers from UMD, both were wearing life jackets. The water temperature was around 48 degrees and both of the victims were taken to a hospital to get treatment from hypothermia.
