OOSTBURG, Wis. (WHBL) - An Oostburg man diagnosed with schizophrenia, who allegedly stole a fireman’s radio, has been charged with theft in Sheboygan County Court.  41 year old Thomas Heuver was charged Friday in Sheboygan County Court after the fire chief of the Cedar Grove Fire Department reported his station radio was missing, and he believed Heuver had taken it.  According to the criminal complaint, Heuver was at the Cedar Grove Co-op with the chief, who is employed there full-time, when the chief was called to a meeting.  Realizing he’d left his radio behind, he went back to retrieve it, but couldn’t find it.  The Sheriff’s Department showed up at Heuver’s home to question him, and found the defaced radio, along with many other electronic items.  His father, who shares a home with Heuver, told officials that he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, and has been known to do things like this before.  If convicted, Heuver could face 9 months behind bars and $10,000 in fines.
