MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) – A Wausau business leader has been named to a statewide transportation commission.
Barb Fleisner is the head of Centergy, a Central Wisconsin based business development think tank. The group successfully lobbied for the I-39 expansion into central Wisconsin in the 90s. Other big names on the committee include Craig Thompson, president of the Transportation Development Association and former Madison mayor Dave Cieslewicz.
The commission was created by the Legislature as part of the 2011-13 biennial budget and charged with examining issues related to the future of transportation finance and policy in the state. Their task is to present a report on the future of transportation growth in the state by March of 2013.
