MADISON, WI (KDAL) - The Wisconsin Assembly passed a bill that streamlines the permitting process for a proposed iron mine in Ashland and Iron Counties. The bill passed along party lines as the 59 GOP legislators voted for it and the 36 Democrats voted against it. Governor Scott Walker is in favor of the legislation and is urging the State Senate to take up the issue.
