WASHINGTON D.C. (KDAL) - Amy Klobuchar is one of three Senators to introduce bipartisan legislation that would allow cell phone unlocking so that those who want to can switch carriers without having to get a new phone. The bill is called the Wireless Consumer Choice Act, and it asks the Federal Communications Commission to to ensure consumers have the right to unlock their phones. A companion bill will be introduced in the House of Representatives. According to a Klobuchar news release, the FCC and the White House have both come out in support of cell phone unlocking.
