EVELETH, MN (KDAL) – Over a dozen fire departments responded to reports of a fire at the Countryside Apartments in Eveleth on Wednesday night.
According to the Northland Firewire, first responders found flames and heavy smoke coming from the building when they arrived at about 6:45 p-m.
All of the residents were able to escape but several of the apartments were heavily damaged and up to 20 people were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
One firefighter sustained a minor injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
