WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump and former head of the Christian institution Liberty University, Jerry Falwell Jr., confirmed on Tuesday he has resigned as president from the school, according to a report by the Washington Post.
The confirmation comes after conflicting reports of his status following a Reuters report on the evangelical leader’s sexual relationship between him, his wife and a former business associate.
The board of the Lynchburg, Virginia institution was having a meeting earlier on Tuesday regarding Falwell, who served as its president for over a decade.
