U.S. Justice Department weighs civil rights probe of blue states over COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Justice Department on Wednesday ordered several Democratically-controlled states to hand over COVID-19 data to help it determine whether to launch civil rights investigations into the deaths of thousands of elderly nursing home residents.
