DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Duluth Police are investigating a crash on Monday morning that damaged a building at 128 West 1st Street.
A GMC Suburban driven by a 53 year old man apparently lost its breaks while coming down the hill on 2nd Avenue West.
Police say in an attempt to decrease the speed, the driver veered left onto West 1st Street and crashed into the building.
The driver sustained non life threatening injuries and a structural pillar of the building was damaged.
Impairment is not thought to be an issue in the accident and no citations have been issued by police at this time.
The 100 block of West 1st Street was closed for several hours while the building’s structure was assessed.
