WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States on Monday imposed Syria-related sanctions on eight individuals and 11 entities, including companies involved in the oil sector, according to the U.S. Treasury Department’s website.
Washington is bidding to push Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government back to United Nations-led negotiations and broker an end to the country’s nearly decade-long war.
