(Reuters) – Two New York City police officers were shot and wounded on Tuesday afternoon after responding to a domestic dispute, with both expected to survive, a police spokesman said.
The officers were responding after reports of shots fired within a home near 179th Street in the borough of Queens at about 12:45 p.m., police said. The injuries to the officers were reported as apparently non-lethal.
Few other details were immediately available. Local media accounts say a suspect was also wounded.
