SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – Two new exhibits will be opening at the Bong Veterans Historical Center in Superior this week.
On Tuesday, a traveling exhibit from the St. Louis County Historical Society that honors Joe Gomer, one of the Tuskegee Airmen from World War Two, opened.
Following the war, Gomer and family lived in Duluth where he was involved in community activism and committed to ensuring equal opportunities for people of color and women.
The Gomer exhibit will be on view through October.
A new permanent exhibit that features the Korean and Vietnam Wars will be opening on Thursday.
That exhibit features stories from vets from both conflicts to help visitors understand the importance of both wars to American history.
