DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Advisories have been posted for the region for Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
The storm system will feature strong winds, rain, freezing rain and snow over northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
The heaviest snow accumulations will be across the Iron Range and Arrowhead of Minnesota with 3 to 8 inches in the forecast.
A combination of snow and freezing rain will affect portions of northern Wisconsin during the nighttime hours.
Winds gusting to 40 miles per hour and accumulating ice and snow on tree branches and power lines could result in some power outages.
Travel is expected to become difficult through the night and the morning commute on Thursday could also be affected.
Precipitation will end Thursday morning and some sun should return by the afternoon with high temperatures in the lower 40’s.
