DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A heavy, wet snow combined with strong winds Wednesday night knocked out power to several areas, left slippery roads across the region and nearly seven inches of snow on the ground in Duluth.
The weather and poor road conditions likely contributed to a fatal one vehicle rollover crash on the Canosia Road Wednesday evening.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department says a 57 year old man died when the vehicle he was driving left the roadway and rolled over in the ditch.
Minnesota Power reports crews are working to restore electricity to about 700 customers as of Thursday morning. Most power was restored overnight.
Another couple of inches of snow is still possible in the Duluth area before the sun appears Thursday afternoon with high temps around 40 degrees.
After a day in the 30’s Friday, the weather forecast calls for sunny skies and lower 50’s for Saturday.
