DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A large number of COVID-19 vaccine appointments are available this week at St. Luke’s in Duluth.
Appointments to receive the Pfizer vaccine are offered to everyone 16 and over and there is no need to be a St. Luke’s patient of a resident of Minnesota.
Those under 18 are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian or have a signed vaccine consent form.
Appointments at the St. Luke’s Vaccine Clinic can be made online at slhduluth.com/COVIDVaccine or by calling 218-249-4200 between 8 a-m and 4:30 p-m.
Meanwhile, Essentia Health will be accepting walk-in vaccinations on a first-come, first-served basis at their clinic in the Miller Hill Mall this week and early next week. You do not need to be a patient of Essentia to qualify.
Walk-ins will be only for those receiving their first dose and will be limited to 200 total people per day.
They are not accepting walk-ins for second doses. Those who already have received their first dose are required to make an appointment for their second.
Patients and non-patients can use MyChart or call (833) 494-0836 to schedule an appointment.
The clinic will be accepting walk-ins for first doses of the Pfizer shot on Thursday and Friday from 10 a-m to 6 p-m and Saturday from 10 a-m to 2 p-m.
The clinic will be accepting walk-ins for first doses of the Moderna shot on Monday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Pfizer vaccine has been approved for those age 16 and older. Patients under the age of 18 must bring a consent form, signed by their parent or legal guardian, to be eligible for the shot.
On April 26, Essentia will only be offering the Moderna vaccine, which has not been approved for those under the age of 18.
