DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The National Weather Service Office in Duluth says critical fire weather conditions are expected over much of the region Friday afternoon and evening.
A Red Flag Warning is in effect from noon to 9 p-m in portions of northeast Minnesota as the well above normal temperatures will combine with some strong winds and dry air.
Those conditions can contribute to extreme fire behavior and any outdoor burning could spread rapidly.
Near-critical fire weather conditions expected for areas outside the Red Flag Warning.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says burning should not be done during the Red Flag Warning period as any spark could become a wildfire.
