DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth has been selected for a special thermal imaging equipment loan from a technology company in Florida.
The equipment allows the veterinary staff at the zoo to detect areas of inflammation, sprains and infections in animals that might be missed in physical exams or x-rays.
The non-contact and non-invasive procedure does not require sedation or anesthesia.
Certified Veterinary Technician Amy Gallagher says the new equipment compliments the high standard of care provided to the zoo animals.
