DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A man, who was attempting to rescue two children who were struggling in the water, drowned in the St. Louis River on Wednesday.
Authorities say 31 year old Kevin Ingles of Superior entered the river near the Boy Scout Landing, went under the water and never resurfaced.
Bystanders in the area successfully saved the 5 and 8 year old children.
Duluth Police and Fire Department personnel and the St. Louis County Rescue Squad were called to the water emergency around 2 p-m.
Following an extensive search, the body of Ingles was recovered from the river at 5:20.
