MORSE TOWNSHIP, MN (KDAL) – A 76 year old woman from Grand Rapids was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries after a snowmobile crash Wednesday afternoon.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred in Morse Township near Winton.
The snowmobile, driven by Kristin Johnson, left the designated trail and hit a marked utility pole guide wire.
She was thrown from the snowmobile and taken to a hospital in Ely for treatment of her injuries.
Following the crash, several area residents lost power until crews from Lake Country Power were able to restore the connection.
The accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
