SOFIA (Reuters) – Bulgaria has given two Russian diplomats 48 hours to leave the country over accusations of spying, Foreign Minister Teodora Ganchovska said on Wednesday.
In a earlier statement on Wednesday, prosecutors accused one Russian diplomat of espionage and said a Bulgarian reserve general was being investigated for handing out information considered state secrets to the Russian diplomat.
A spokeswoman said the government, the national security services and prosecutors were assessing additional information to see if there were more people who had breached their diplomatic status.
