DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – At a news conference Wednesday, Duluth Police Chief Mike Tusken announced that he will retire on August 1st.
Tusken joined the Police Department in 1992 and was named Chief by Mayor Emily Larson in 2016.
Larson says Tusken has been a steady, trusted leader who elevates everyone around him.
Tusken says it was an honor to serve with the citizens of his hometown for more than 30 years.
He will continue his position as Law Enforcement Program Coordinator at the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College’s Law Enforcement Program.
An interim Chief of Police will be announced and the search for a permanent Chief will begin in the next few weeks. The position will be open to both internal and external candidates.
