DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A ground breaking ceremony is being held on Thursday afternoon to celebrate the start of construction at Lincoln Park.
The park at 25th Avenue West and 3rd Street in Duluth will be renovated to improve safety and accessibility.
The project includes restoration of the historic stone pavilion including new ADA compliant restrooms.
The playground will be relocated and replaced, a new multi-use sports court and new parking lots will be constructed.
New trails and green infrastructure such as biofiltration basins and pollinator gardens will also be added.
Several grants will help fund the project along with tourism tax proceeds and donations from Essentia Health, St. Luke’s, Maurices and Minnesota Power.
