WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The White House will hold the third meeting of its Competition Council on Monday, an official told Reuters.
President Joe Biden will deliver remarks to open the meeting on the administration’s push to boost competition, the White House official added. Biden signed in July 2021 a sweeping executive order to promote more competition in the U.S. economy, asking agencies to crack down on anti-competitive practices in sectors from agriculture to drugs and labor. The council, chaired by the White House National Economic Council director Brian Deese, most recently met in January.
