(Reuters) – Grocery giant Kroger Co is in talks to merge with smaller rival Albertsons Companies Inc, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday, in what would be one of the biggest deals in the U.S. retail landscape in recent years.
A potential deal would create a combined company with a market cap of about $47 billion and nearly $210 billion in annual sales.
