MADISON, WI (KDAL) – The Wisconsin DNR has released a draft of their updated Wolf Management Plan for public review and comment.
The revised plan will move away from a single numeric wolf population goal and instead balance tradeoffs between three main objectives.
They are ensuring a healthy, sustainable population while addressing wolf related conflicts and the benefits of wolf hunting, trapping and sightseeing.
The plan also revises wolf management zone boundaries and addresses local concerns near tribal boundaries and areas with wolf-livestock conflicts.
The draft plan and instructions on providing feedback during a 60 day period can be found at the DNR Wolf Management Plan webpage.
