ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) – The 3rd annual “Name a Snowplow” contest from the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is now in the voting stage.
You can vote online for your favorites from the sixty names submitted by residents. The top eight with the most votes will become MnDOT plow names.
Find a list of the names and vote at the mndot.gov/nameasnowplow website now through February 3rd.
The winning names and the MnDOT district where each will be located will be announced after votes are tallied.
Over 10,400 potential names were submitted in December and MnDOT staff narrowed the list down to a final 60.
Among the finalists are Lolla-plow-looza, Mary Tyler More Snow, Sir Plows-a-lot, Spirit of ’91 and Plow-a-bunga. You can vote for up to eight.
MnDOT has over 800 snowplows across the state.
