DULUTH, MN (Northern News Now) – A representative from BNSF confirmed that at approximately 9:00 a.m on Sunday, two wheels of a BNSF locomotive went off the track, resulting in the locomotive derailing but remaining upright.
They said the locomotive did not tip over and none of the rail cars derailed.
The incident occurred on tracks across from the Lake Superior Zoo in West Duluth.
BNSF also confirmed there were no injuries as a result of the derailment.
