DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A rapid snow melt due to above normal temperatures over the last several days has led to flooding along some area rivers, streams and low lying areas.
A Flood Warning has been posted by the National Weather Service Office in Duluth for portions of Bayfield and Douglas Counties in northwest Wisconsin.
Portions of State Highway 13 have closed due to multiple culvert failures and water over the road.
The warning continues until Thursday afternoon.
Motorists are reminded not to drive around barricades or attempt crossing flooded roadways. Report any new flooded areas to local law enforcement.
A Flood Advisory is also in effect for most of east central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin for minor flooding and ponding of water from melting snow.
