DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Duluth Parks and Recreation Division has closed all the natural surface trails until further notice.
The spring thaw has left trails soft and vulnerable to significant damage if used at this time.
Examples of natural surface trails include the Duluth Traverse, the Superior Hiking Trail, and other dirt trail systems located within parks.
Paved and gravel surface trails are unaffected by the seasonal closure and remain open for use.
City of Duluth cross country ski trails will remain open as long as snow covers the trails. Hiking is not permitted on ski trails while snow is on the ground.
