DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The 47 St. Louis County Roads that were closed over the last month due to flooding have now all reopened.
Repairs to any damage caused by the high water from rapidly melting snow have been made.
Late word on Monday, a portion of Highway 5 south of Side Lake is temporarily closed after a culvert failed causing a partial washout.
St. Louis County Public Works expects repairs may take about a week and will provide an update when the road is able to reopen.
Highway 29, a gravel road north of Meadowlands, that was closed for another reason remains closed.
The road was a designated detour route while the Highway 133 bridge across the Whiteface River was being rebuilt.
The wet spring, combined with increased traffic from the detour caused the road to deteriorate.
Public Works crews have barricaded the road until the condition improves. Motorists are asked to use Highways 7, 27 and 5 as a temporary detour.
