DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A 32 year old man, armed with a shotgun, led law enforcement on a high speed pursuit along Highway 61 Thursday evening.
The incident began when the suspect fired a shotgun round into the garage door of a family friend.
Trying to evade arrest, the suspect drove up and down in the wrong lanes of the highway between Duluth and Two Harbors.
He eventually crashed into rocks in a gravel pit near the 7800 block of Highway 61 where he was taken into custody.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Duluth Police, the Lake County Sheriff’s Department and the State Patrol in the pursuit and arrest.
The suspect is jailed on preliminary charges of 2nd degree assault, 4th degree burglary, reckless discharge of a firearm and fleeing in a motor vehicle.
