Expect Highway 61 Border Crossing Delays

DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A construction project on Highway 61 at the Pigeon River bridge and heavy traffic at the Grand Portage Port of Entry is causing some backups and delays starting Monday.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says longer delays can be expected on weekends, especially Sundays through the summer months.

The project, that replaces bridge bearings, the deck and lighting system on the Pigeon River bridge, is due to be completed in the fall.
