KYIV (Reuters) – Air defence systems were engaged early Sunday in repelling a Russian air attack on Kyiv, Ukraine’s air force said on the Telegram messaging app.
Reuters witnesses heard blasts resembling the sound of air defence systems hitting targets. There was no immediate information about potential damage.
Kyiv, its region and a number of central and eastern Ukraine’s regions were under air raid alerts issued after 2 a.m. local time (2300 GMT).
