SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – Last Thursday, about 6:30 p-m, Superior Police responded to a reported altercation in the woods west of the Hayes Court baseball fields off Elm Avenue.
The victim went in the area to investigate a dog that he believed was in distress and was confronted by a man with something in his hand that may have been a knife.
The victim, who had lacerations on his arm and abdomen, left the area and called 9-1-1.
Police surrounded the wooded area and used a drone and K9 in an attempt to locate the suspect.
Officers found an encampment and a dog that appeared in good health but the suspect was not found.
An investigation led to the identification of the suspect who was located later in the evening and taken into custody.
