ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) – According to figures released on Tuesday by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), the unemployment rate in the state was up by a tenth of a point in August to 3.1 percent.
Minnesota gained 4400 jobs from July to August and the labor force in the state grew for a sixth straight month.
Among the sectors gaining jobs on a seasonally adjusted basis were Health Services, Education, Construction, Manufacturing and Leisure and Hospitality.
Losing jobs over the month were Professional and Business services, Government, Information and Transportation and Utilities.
