BEIJING (Reuters) – China has facilitated transit through the country from northern Myanmar amid the conflict there as some parties have been asking for assistance, the Chinese foreign ministry said on Monday.
China will stay in contact with related countries on what is to be done next, ministry spokesperson Mao Ning told a regular press briefing.
More than two hundred Thai nationals trapped by the surge in fighting in northern Myanmar between junta soldiers and armed ethnic-minority groups are being evacuated to Thailand via China, the Thai foreign ministry said on Sunday.
