(Reuters) – Dallas defensive back DaRon Bland returned a record fifth interception for a touchdown on Thursday to help the Cowboys to a 45-10 win over the Washington Commanders.
Late in the fourth quarter Bland stepped in front of Commanders quarterback Sam Howell’s pass and raced 63 yards down the sidelines to the roars of a sold out U.S. Thanksgiving Day crowd in Dallas for his fifth ‘pick six’ of the season.
Bland had returned an interception for a touchdown on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers to grab a share of the single-season mark alongside Eric Allen (1993), Ken Houston (1971), and Jim Kearney (1972).
Simone Biles was also celebrating on Thanksgiving after watching her husband, Green Bay Packers defensive back Jonathan Owens, return a fumble 27-yards for a touchdown in a 29-22 win over the Detroit Lions.
The most decorated Olympic gymnast of all time immediately took to social media and posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “That’s my Husband!!!!!!! My mans My mans My mansssssss.”
