GNESEN TOWNSHIP, MN (KDAL) – A Thursday afternoon fire at a residence on the East Van Road in Gnesen Township destroyed a shed and large garage.
Four area volunteer fire departments and the St. Louis County Rescue Squad responded to the fire around 4 p-m.
According to authorities, the homeowner had lit an exterior wood-fired boiler and then went inside the home. A short time later, smoke was observed near the boiler and the fire had spread to the nearby shed and garage.
The homeowner sustained minor burns as he retrieved a skid-steer from the burning garage.
The incident is being investigated by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
