SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department reports that searchers found the body of a missing Duluth man in the Village of Superior on Monday.
43 year old Ryan Lahti was reported missing by his family on June 14th.
He was last seen fleeing into the woods after a traffic stop on June 8th on the Cemetery Road south of Highway 105. An extensive search by K-9’s, drones and thermal imaging was unsuccessful in locating him at that time.
Sheriff deputies with friends and family of Lahti located his body late Monday afternoon partially submerged in the Pokegema River in an area west of Oakes Avenue.
The cause of death is awaiting the results of an autopsy.
