MEADOWLANDS TOWNSHIP, MN (Northern News Now) -Two people were injured Tuesday after a two vehicle crash involving a maintenance vehicle.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s office says the crash happened just after 4:30 p.m. on Hwy 7 north of Hwy 133 located in Meadowlands Township.
According to authorities, a minivan carrying two adult women was traveling northbound on Hwy 7 when it rear-ended a flatbed truck which was part of a group of maintenance vehicles that were repainting roadway markings.
The driver of the minivan was transported to a Duluth hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger was airlifted to a Duluth hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
Investigators say impairment may have been a factor and the crash remains under investigation.
