(Reuters) – Walt Disney said on Friday that Oracle chief executive Safra Catz is departing the entertainment company’s board after six years.
Catz was elected to Disney’s board in 2017 along with Illumina Inc’s former CEO Francis deSouza, at a time when the company was looking to acquire Twenty-First Century Fox Inc’s media empire.
Disney CEO Robert Iger said Catz “has provided invaluable insight that has helped shape (Disney’s) long-term strategic planning amid a rapidly changing technological landscape.”
Following Catz’s departure, Disney’s board will be down to 11 members.
