DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Winter Storm Watch for parts of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin from Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon.
The latest information on the storm includes snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches with locally higher amounts possible.
Winds gusting to 30 miles per hour will add to hazardous driving conditions that could impact the morning and the early portion of the evening commutes on Thursday.
Despite the warm ground surfaces, snowfall rates of an inch an hour will still lead to accumulating snowfall especially inland from Lake Superior.
High temperatures on Thursday will only reach the mid 30’s and drop to the low 20’s Thursday night. Temps will warm to the mid 40’s Friday and low 50’s by Saturday.
