DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A special post Halloween pumpkin collection event and fall celebration is being held on Saturday at the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) in Duluth.
Rather than just throwing away pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns, bring them to the WLSSD where they are recycled as part of their composting process.
The event, from noon to 4 p-m Saturday, also features games, fall crafts, hot cocoa and snacks.
Your are asked to remove any candles or other inorganic materials from the pumpkins before dropping them off.
Residents are also asked to drop off leaves and yard waste for composting before November 23rd.
The WLSSD Yard Waste Compost Site is at 2626 Courtland Street, 27th Avenue West and the waterfront.
